 Linda P. Jackson

PHONE: 504-671-5016

BRIEF BIO:

As a graduate of Delgado Community College, a student at the University of Phoenix and a staff member in the Enrollment Services department at Delgado for the past 28 years, I’ve had the privilege of truly seeing the seeds that I planted blossom.  I am always thrilled when my students return during their stay and after graduating just to say, “thanks for going out of your way to help me” or “you were an inspiration to me and I appreciate you”.  That’s why my chosen profession has been one of longevity because it is a choice to help another individual.

Your Goal For Students Enrolling At DCC:

To leave DCC a more ardent individual, willing and committed to give back, by going back to their high school or nay high school and volunteer to mentor four or five students every year, encouraging them in a positive way.

CAMPUS VISITS:

It's important for students and parents to view our campus so they can see what we offer and get insight about Delgado Community College.

MY ROLE IN ORIENTATION:

My role in orientation is to give students accurate information that will prepare them for a successful educational journey at Delgado.

BRIEF BIO:
I am a  native New Orleanian who attended Delgado Community College immediately after high school.  After completing my general education requirements at Delgado, I transferred to Southern University at New Orleans where I attained a B.A. in English.  I also have a Master's degree in Education from the University of New Orleans. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of New Orleans. I have been employed with  Delgado Community College for three years.  I chose the education profession because I have a passion for learning, teaching, and helping people succeed.

YOUR GOAL FOR STUDENTS ENROLLING AT DCC:
My goal is for students to leave Delgado academically, socially, and civically prepared for future endeavors.

CAMPUS VISITS:

Campus visits give students and parents the opportunity to determine if Delgado can meet the academic and social needs of the student. Without a personal eye view of what campuses offer, students sometimes mismatch the college with their needs. When students visit Delgado, they know it's the place they want to be.

MY ROLE IN ORIENTATION:

My role in orientation encompasses meeting and greeting students and conducting  orientation sessions.
